Mental Health Information Hub
With up to half of all staff absences due to mental health
problems, the promotion of mental health and well being
at work can pay real dividends by reducing absenteeism
and sickness rates, and encouraging a more motivated
and capable workforce.
Fife Employment Access Trust is offering organisations
throughout Fife the opportunity to display the Mental Health
and Wellbeing at Work "Information Hub" for one week at their
place of work, all free of charge.
Consisting of a lightweight display stand measuring just under
three feet by six-and-a-half feet tall and a range of free leaflets,
the hub is ideal for staff canteens or rest rooms and will provide
staff and managers with a wealth of practical and useful
information on various illnesses and how to promote a healthy
workplace.
A small table-top and poster display is also available for smaller
premises, as well as an e-version for organisations with no free
space or multiple sites.
The hub will be set up, maintained and removed by our staff.
The vast array of leaflets available free from the hub are listed
(National Association of Mental Health), NHS and FEAT.
Wellbeing at Work Digital Roadshow
The Roadshow is also free of charge to Fife employers and runs for one week in
your premises. It includes the 'Information Hub' as above, but goes further than
simply hosting a display by adding all of the following elements. We can offer the
traditional paper-based display, or you can now book our digital touchscreen
display - all the elements below are included, but in a digitised format:
Stress Audits
We provide HSE stress questionnaires (35 questions) for each organisation, analyse
the results and offer any recommendations or additional advice. The findings from a
stress audit can be fed into organisational change and, in doing so, transform the
culture into a more healthy one. This service also ensures anonymity for each
employee and therefore an 'honest' picture is more likely. Stress audits work
particularly well in conjunction with information you will already keep - such as
sickness absence statistics, productivity rates, accidents and staff turnover. Our
stress audits can also be broken down by department or job function, to identify any
areas of concern (or success) on a 'local' level. If there are areas for development
identified as a result of the audit, FEAT can also offer a range of training sessions to
help you reach new goals.
Lunch 'n' Learn
During the week of your roadshow, we will offer a short awareness-raising session to all
staff - either at a team meeting or over lunch - consisting of an interactive quiz and Q&A
on mental health at work issues. (Either in person, or "virtually" on the touchscreen).
Free Publicity
All organisations participating in the roadshow will have a feature page on our websites for
the week (journeytowork and digital feat), and get a paragraph in your local newspaper during
the week.
Ongoing Support
To cement the learning gained over the week, we would invite organisations to participate in
more in-depth training sessions and provide supported work experience placements for our
Journey to Work participants.
