FEAT NewsNew training courses for 2010Due to circumstances outwith our control, we have had to move some dates and venues of our scheduled mental health awareness training sessions in Fife this year. Therefore, our next course “Mental Health at Work” – a 1-day session for managers and supervisors – now takes place on Friday 1st October from 9.30 – 4.30 in Committee Room 1, Fife House, North Street, Glenrothes. This is followed by the ever-popular “Stress Awareness at Work” – a half day session aimed at employees looking for techniques to keep stress at bay, as well as recognise the signs and symptoms of stress. This now takes place on Thursday 21 October from 9.30-12.30 in Lochgelly Fire Station. The final change sees our best-selling half day session “Mental Health Awareness” – an ideal course for anyone wanting to understand more about mental health generally. This now runs from 9.30-12.30 on Friday 12 November in the Fife Chamber of Commerce Boardroom, Wemyssfield, Kirkcaldy. Half-day courses are charged at £50 per person and full-day sessions at £120 per person. In addition, thanks to a partnership development with Inside TRAC Training & Consultancy, we can now also offer "Scotland's Mental Health First Aid" free of charge on the dates below.
This course does not train people to be mental health workers, but it does offer general information about mental health problems. The knowledge presented and understanding developed in the course helps to remove stigma and fear and to give confidence in approaching a person in distress.
Next course: Wednesday & Thursday 27th and 28th October 2010 (9.30 am - 4.30 pm, venue to be confirmed); Wednesday & Thursday 1st and 2nd December (9.30 am - 4.30 pm, venue to be confirmed)
